yet we considered Him punished by God,
stricken by Him, and afflicted.
But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on Him
the iniquity of us all.
These words taken from the book of Isaiah 53, were spoken about Jesus, long before he was born. He came to die for you. But, he rose again, bringing victory, over death. For God so loved the world, that, anyone who believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. The promise still stands today. Jesus paid the ultimate price for you and me.
Father, thank you for sending Jesus into the world to die for our sins.
Thank you that death had no power over Him.
I praise today, as we remember that resurrection morning that begun in a garden long ago.
That spans time and history
Thank you that the promise of abundant life in you is the same today
As it was then.
